Good questions, straight answers

Pricing and quoting

How much will my plumbing job cost?

Every job is quoted as a single fixed price in writing before any work begins, the call out is $0, and the number on the quote is the number on the invoice. No hourly meter, no estimates that grow.

Do you charge extra for nights, weekends or public holidays?

No, there are no overtime rates, so the same fault priced on a Tuesday morning is priced the same way at 9pm on a Sunday. Emergencies don't check the calendar and neither do we.

What if I decline the quote?

Then you owe nothing. The assessment and quote cost you $0, and you only ever pay for work you've approved.

Licensing and warranty

Are your plumbers licensed and insured?

Every plumber on the team is fully licensed and insured, working under licence #275278C, and compliance certificates are supplied with the invoice. Gas, drainage and hot water work all fall inside that licence.

What warranty covers the work?

Workmanship is guaranteed for life under our Lifetime Labour Warranty, so if something we did is not right we come back, no questions and no cost.

Availability and coverage

How fast can you get to a burst pipe or overflow?

A real person answers the phone day and night and the nearest stocked van is dispatched, though exact arrival times depend on your location and the traffic at that hour. While you wait, shut off the water at the meter; our emergency plumbing page walks through the make-safe steps.

Which areas do you cover besides Balgowlah?

We work across Manly Vale, Seaforth, Fairlight, North Balgowlah and Manly, with the same fixed pricing and licensed team covering the whole service area. Each suburb has its own page, such as plumber Seaforth, if you want the local detail.

The local plumbing quirks

Why do drains in the leafier streets block so often?

Mature street trees push fine roots into older clay and earthenware sewer joints, and once a root mass starts it regrows after every clear, so we camera-check the line and offer permanent repair options rather than repeat pokes. See blocked drains for how that works.

Does salt air really damage taps and pipes near the water?

Yes, salt-laden air drifting up from the harbour corrodes exposed copper and external fittings years faster than sheltered streets, so we specify coastal-rated fixtures and check exposed pipework whenever we attend a waterside home.

My house dates from before the 1960s. What should I watch for?

Homes from that era often retain dated gas fittings, original clay drainage and galvanised supply lines, all of which deserve a look during renovations or appliance swaps before they fail on their own schedule. A maintenance plumbing visit is the inexpensive way to find out where you stand.

Can you handle stormwater on sloping sandstone blocks?

Yes, we diagnose and rebuild stormwater runs designed around the suburb's steep falls toward the harbour, sizing pits and pipes for the fast run-off heavy Sydney downpours generate. The stormwater page covers the details.

Do you still work on gas hot water and gas fittings?

Yes. Ageing gas connections in the older village housing are a regular job here, and every gas job is licensed, leak-tested and certified. Compare the options on our gas hot water systems page.

Still stuck?

What if my question isn't here?

Call and ask. A licensed plumber answers, tells you what it likely means and what it would cost, and there's no charge for the conversation.
